Left leaning arrow diagonal = left leaning decrease (e.g. ssk); right leaning arrow diagonal = right leaning decrease (e.g. k2 tog); arrow pointing up with three legs = central double decrease (e.g. slip 2 together as if to knit, knit third stitch, pass the two slipped stitches over the knitted stitch); circle = yarnover; vertical bar = knit on right side, purl on wrong side; blank space = purl on right side, knit on wrong side.
