For the sample: 34 pattern stitches + 2 edge stitches = 36 stitches
- = knit stitches
- = purl stitches
- = yarn over
- = 1 double decrease: Slip 2 stitches as if to knit through the front loops, knit the next stitch, and pull it through the slipped stitches
- = 1 double decrease, which is distributed to the beginning and end of the row: At the beginning of the row, perform 1 simple decrease (slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1, and pull it through the slipped stitch); At the end of the row, knit 2 stitches together
- = leave 3 stitches on a cable needle behind the work, knit 3, knit the 3 stitches from the cable needle (right-leaning cable)
- = leave 3 stitches on a cable needle in front of the work, knit 3, knit the 3 stitches from the cable needle (left-leaning cable)
Hi, this is such a beautiful stitch, I’d like to use it but I don’t speak …. russian? I figured out almost all stitches but the 5th one (like lightening) . Any one here to translate? I’d be very grateful.

Thank you for this chart and translation. I used Google Images to get a translation and it was nice to have another layer of verification. Also, I think there is a mistake on Row 31 and 33 on the chart.
ROW 31: Starting from the right from stitch 1 – 14. The chart shows the special decrease, then K3, but then P10. I think it should be {Special Decrease, K3, P2, K6, P2} and then the rest of the chart.
ROW 33: Starting from the right from stitch 1 – 13. The chart shows the special decrease, then K2, but then P10. I think it should be {Special Decrease, K2, P2, K6, P2} and then the rest of the chart.
This way it mirrors the other side of the chart. Also I used Stitch Fiddle/MS Excel to redraw the chart and decided to shift the repeat to centre the leaf shape in the middle – I highly recommend redrawing this and any chart. And I changed the Special Decrease to a K2TOG and the beginning of the row after edge ST, and a SSK at the end of the same row before edge ST. Ultimately when that section repeats those two turn into a CDD. I have not knit up a sample so I will see if these edits work at a later date. Thanks again ! 😀
